Do you ever wonder where the typical workweek comes from? It goes back nearly 100 years to the days when Henry Ford split up a 24-hour day into three shifts of eight hours for his factory employees. For corporate America, it slowly became the norm to work 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, Monday through Friday. While so much changed over the past century, how society looks at work did not change until the Covid-19 pandemic.
We realized employees in nearly every industry could be productive outside of an office without adhering to the strict 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday schedule. As Richard Branson said, "If you take care of your employees, they will take care of the clients." That's why at Media Minefield, we are implementing a four-day workweek mindset to better serve our clients and employees.
